"Always wear expensive shoes. People notice."

It sort of amazes me how the Balenciaga Fall/Winter 2006 booties still haunt me. Sometimes when I'm getting dressed, I'll think about how they'd be the perfect finish to my outfit; I just wish I owned them. Then, I thought maybe my prayers had been answered when Sam Edelman rereleased the Zoe Boot. Unfortunately, for $345 I fear these, too, will join the Balenciagas in tormenting me. God, I really need a job.

Oh, How I Love Thee...

When I saw this in the H&M magazine, my mouth dropped. The velvet makes the dress look luxurious, and those sleeves...amazing. I die.
Oh, and don't even tease me with these shorts. Seriously, a high-waisted, tweed short with studded pocket detail? I just want to put them on with some black tights, a platform heel, and one of this season's greatest trends--the boyfriend tuxedo jacket.

i'm not mister muscle, but i can be loathsome and i can hustle you.

I'm so obsessed with this Alexander Wang leather motorcycle jacket. The lambskin leather looks so soft and buttery and, oh, I sort of just want to lick it. Too bad it retails for $1,495 and is almost always sold out. I really need to find a cheaper alternative, but have yet to see one.

AH

This outfit--amazing.

Summer Is Coming =)

This Missoni kaftan would be perfect for the beach. It's light, airy, luxurious, and chic. It reminds me of something Rachel Zoe would wear.
$1,160

obsessed.

Balmain is just feeding my obsession with studs. It's unhealthy.

$7,830

Jellies

Jelly sandals were all the rage when I was like, 9 years old. It seems they are making a comeback. I already own some Michael Kors jelly sandals, but I am looking into getting these Burberry ones. They seem very versatile and are perfect for Summer.

Groove, slam, work it back.

Nicole Richie emulates Lady Gaga in Black Book. She was quoted as saying, she didn't have "a great relationship with the 80s" the  in the latest issue, yet she successfully managed to channel the glam punk trends. First Christina, now Nicole...it seems as though everyone in Hollywood is looking to jump on this new trend. So, who is next to copy Gaga?

Christian Siriano's Line for Payless

I have a love/hate relationship with Payless. Well, no, mostly I actually just hate it. It's like, you go in there and are so seduced by the excessively cheap prices, that you actually forget about the terrible construction and poor quality fabrics. Not to mention, when you DO manage to score a great find, when someone asks you, "OMG, WHERE'D YOU GET THOSE SHOES?" (which, by the way, is a question I hate, because it's like, what? Are you going to run there right now and get them too? Anyway, I digress...) it becomes a whole uncomfortable situation where you don't know whether to lie or accept the inevitable judgement that will be cast upon you for stepping foot in Payless. Usually, I just lie--but, that is because I have no sense of morality. Still, you never know if that person happens to be a fellow undercover Payless shopper, in which case, she now knows you're lying. And I must admit, the only thing worse than wearing Payless shoes, is lying about wearing Payless shoes. Again, I digress...
So, Christian Siriano's new collection is cool, but not very original. It closely resembles Rodarte's Fall 2008 collection, and the boots look like the YSL ankle boots. However, with the prices ranging from $25-$45, the shoes are hard to resist. Personally, I definitely plan on purchasing the top right, because, damn, they are fierce. Hmm, and possibly the bottom right, as well--since I don't have the funds needed to buy myself the YSL's.

Marc Jacobs Fall 2009

AH! Marc has done it again. Leave it to him to pull me out of my monochrome stupor...no seriously, I think I wear black, like, everyday. But I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pink and black combination. That black coat lined with the hot pink is magnificent. The purple 80s prom dress, the jewel tones, the velvet, the pop of color, the unique hair and make up--are all a far cry from the somber state of the economy. But Marc Jacobs doesn't care--he's just a material girl living in a material world--and I sort of love him for that.

Sea World

I just found this awesome stingray clutch from Satine. It costs $1,265 and is sold out. I guess I'm just going to have to head over to the aquarium in Boston and wrangle myself a stingray...

Balenciaga Pre-Fall 2009

I really like this collection so far. It's very grunge meets elegance. My favorite is the white and black dress with the fur gilet over it. I don't think the harem pants are practical for everyday wear, but they look great as styled here. But...what is with those gorilla gloves?! Please, please let this trend stay on the runway and not make its way to the streets (fingers crossed).

Gossip Girl

So, Blake Lively gets Vogue and Leighton Meester gets...Seventeen. Blake looks fabulous, however, she just doesn't seem like "Vogue material". Also, everyone knows Blair is the star of the show. Just sayin'...

Miu Miu Pre-Fall 2009

These outfits are all so interesting. I love the fur and studded bags. Plus, the gold brocade really offsets the looks nicely. Amazinggggg.

Disappointing

Here are two looks from Gucci's Pre-Fall 2009. I must say this preview is disappointing. Where is the creativity? These things look like stuff you could get at Urban Outfitters or Forever 21. In fact, I think Forever 21 was selling a plaid, silk dress exactly like that one. The boring knit hat, the patent shiny boots...disastrous. The clothes look exactly like the styles from this Fall. Look like Gucci needs a new creative director ASAP.

Sex and the City

Pour yourself a Cosmo--the Sex and the City sequel has just been confirmed! The fashion selections are sure to be amazing. I cannot wait to see what Patricia Fields has got in store for this movie. Lord knows I never fully got over Carrie's studded belt designed by her.

Handbags

I stumbled across these bags when I was surfing shopbop.com and was instantly struck with Spring Fever. I love these bags for Spring; they bring out the inner hippie in me. Perfect with an eyelet dress, off-the-shoulder top and jean shorts, or just a bikini and a cover up. They are all by Cleobella. The burnt orange Kyler Fringe Bag costs $418, the patterned Ikat Tote runs $330, the camel Peace Lambskin Clutch costs $176, and unfortunately, my favorite--the brown leather Casey Hobo is sold out.

Mischa Barton in Christian Dior.

Last week Mischa Barton showed up at the Christian Dior fashion show in Paris looking really good. Maybe it's the fact that The O.C. is one of my (many) guilty pleasures, but I, for one, am glad to see Mischa looking so glam in her CD dress, shoes and clutch. That shade of yellow is a difficult one to pull off, but Mischa manages to do it quite well--looking thin (and cellulite-free) in the short, strapless cocktail dress. Keep it up, Mischa, I'm rooting for you!

Ray Ban Introduces New Wayfarer Colorize Kit

The classic Ray Ban Wayferer can now be customized! The company has just come out with a kit for you to color and stencil original designs on your sunglasses. This marketing ploy allows one to wear the same pair of glasses every other person has, while still feeling like an individual. I predict that it won't be very long before every hipster in Boston starts rocking these totally indie shades.
